Jean Zhu is a partner at Merits & Tree. Prior to joining Merits & Tree, Jean worked as a core team member for Pinsent Masons and Hesen Alliance for years and temporarily worked at Pinsent Masons London Office during that period of time. Jean also worked respectively as a senior associate and counsel for JunHe LLP and Herbert Smith Freehills Kewei JLO for years.  

 

Jean has a combined background with material, engineering and law. She also passed the CSDG (Certificate for Specialists in Demand Guarantees) exam. Jean specialises in commercial dispute resolution. Jean is a commercial and construction dispute lawyer with particular experience in international and domestic construction, cross-border transactions, international trade, insurance, bond, products liability related disputes. Jean has acted on arbitrations under various institutional rules including ICC, CIETAC, BAC, SHIAC, VIAC and also ad hoc arbitration under UNCITRAL rules as well as litigations at different levels of domestic courts.
